LET’S TALK ABOUT THE JOB!

Under the supervision of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Officer is responsible for the monthly administration of our employee compensation, including calculating employees’ salaries, premiums and allowances, updating internal databases and ensuring timely payments for multiple markets.
You are the first contact person for payroll related questions, both internal from direct colleagues, whether local or abroad, and from the external payroll service provider who will help you on the gross to net calculation.

In this role you will be part of the central payroll team which is responsible for the payroll administration of 8 different countries. You will get assigned certain tasks or markets, but you work together with the other payroll officers and the payroll manager as one team to ensure timely processing for all markets.

The position is based in our European headquarters in Brussels, Groot-Bijgaarden.

 

LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES!

1. Payroll responsibilities

  • You implement salary/benefits administration services and execute the monthly payroll for multiple markets.
  • You handle the contacts with the external payroll providers and follow up on the quality, accuracy, and compliance of the services delivered.
  • You perform checks on the accuracy of the timesheets for payroll processing.
  • You liaise with local HR to resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  • You record data for employees, including information like addresses, monthly earnings, absences, dates of and reasons for terminations, etc.
  • You classify payroll files electronically.
  • You complete all employee related documents in cooperation with local HR teams.
  • You enter payroll-related payments directly into the banking software.
  • You handle all payroll-related questions/requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • You maintain the payroll interfaces to ensure accurate information for payroll accounting.
  • You support the accounting team in their monthly closing activities by providing payroll journal entries.
  • You ensure correct and timely payment of all payroll related taxes.

2. Reporting responsibilities

  • You assume responsibility for effectively recording, maintaining, and reporting human resource information ensuring that human resource files and records are kept confidential and in accordance with legal requirements and company policies and procedures.
  • You analyze HR related data and deliver clear reporting.
  • You provide payroll reports and other input for the monthly and yearly closing activities of the accounting team while respecting the confidentiality of all individual and personal data.
  • You support internal and external audits.
  • You suggest improvements to payroll processes or systems to enhance efficiency.

LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR PROFILE!

  • A bachelor’s degree in payroll, finance or accounting and/or relevant professional experience is mandatory.
  • You must have at least 3 years of experience in payroll processing, either with a payroll service provider, with an internal payroll department, or within an accounting department.
  • International payroll and split payroll experience are a plus.
  • You show a strong interest and affinity with local social legislation and are willing to stay up to date with legislative changes.
  • You are fluent in English, both written and verbally and have working knowledge of Dutch and/or French. Knowledge of German, Danish or Swedish are considered as a plus.
  • You have good working knowledge of Microsoft applications, with a high interest in Excel.
  • Knowledge of Dayforce and/or SAP Success Factors is a plus.
