LET’S TALK ABOUT THE JOB!
You report to the Financial Planning and Reporting Manager and support Shurgard’s operations and development and will contribute to the financial and commercial success collaborating with the Financial Planning and Reporting Manager. You will contribute to develop and enhance the internal and external financial reporting and provide management with clear, objective financial business data to support the decision process. Furthermore, the successful candidate will support the company’s budget, investment property valuation, and business plan processes.

 

LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES!

About your financial analysis responsibilities:

  • You ensure consistency and quality of data and analyze past and current performance.
  • You identify trends and outliers in financial performance and make recommendations for improvement.

About your business performance responsibilities:

  • You provide the management reporting and insightful business analysis for the profit and loss account.
  • You carry out a detailed business control of store operations.
  • You identify and highlight variances from expected progress and outcomes to Executive Committee and other internal stakeholders.
  • You prepare material for the Board of Directors and various sub-committees, as well as ad-hoc analysis and presentations.
  • You improve the reporting quality on detailed level, through consistency of tools and the quality of data.
  • You participate in the preparation of the company’s budgets/forecasts.

About your reporting responsibilities:

  • You provide management reporting and insightful business analysis for the profit and loss account.
  • You support quarterly external reporting and presentations.
  • You improve the reporting quality on detailed level, through consistency of tools and the quality of data.
  • You support the set-up of non-financial data reporting in collaboration with the ESG Reporting Specialist.

About the process and systems:

  • You contribute to the improvements of the business reporting systems and tools.
  • You standardize and automate data gathering (Power Query, PowerBI) and create/maintain financial dashboards.
  • You identify and implement new analysis methods and tools.

Profile (ex. Education, experience, competencies, etc)

LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR PROFILE!

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, or similar through experience.
  • You have at least 2 years of experience in Finance, Controlling, Audit or Reporting.
  • You are fluent in English. Good command of French and/or Dutch is considered as an asset.
  • You have an affinity with ERP’s. and a working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • Advanced level in Excel would be a plus (e.g. pivot tables, spill functions, etc.).
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query would be a strong plus.
