Job description

Purpose of the job

The Real Estate Analyst will service Shurgard’s development and construction businesses in Europe with project management and reporting services with regard to the real estate portfolio.

He/she reports to the Director of Group Reporting and Control.


  • You manage the analysis of real estate projects (construction/redevelopment of stores and acquisition of existing self-storage business) in Europe.
  • You are responsible for tracking projects regarding all Real Estate cost/commitments, time and legal aspects.
  • You work closely with Development Managers and third party consultants to provide direction for and oversight of business plans, budgets, forecasts, analysis and approvals.
  • You ensure expenditure/commitment follow-up on these real estate projects on a European level in close collaboration with the Job Cost Controller.
  • You ensure communication with contractors, suppliers, municipalities etc.
  • You maintain a project dashboard for all real estate projects which gives a clear view to all stakeholders about the current status of the projects.
  • You manage the agenda (together with the Vice President Real Estate) and prepare the supporting document for the investment decisions presented at the company’s Management Investment Committee and Real Estate Investment Committee.
  • You will initiate corporate development projects of new policies, procedures and features to enhance the workflow and performance of the Real Estate Department.

Profile (ex. Education, experience, competencies, etc)


Master Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar through experience.


  • Candidates must have a minimum of 2 to 8 years of experience in accountancy, finance and/or auditing.
  • Exposure to a multi-country environment is considered a plus.
  • Experience in real-estate environment is an asset.

Language skills

  • Fluent knowledge of English is required.
  • Good French language skills are considered a strong asset.
  • Any other market’s language is considered a plus.

Other skills

Working knowledge of MS Office applications and an advanced level in Excel.
